The b(ae)ff. Josuke is Hazel's best friend and the most important person to her in either world, even if most of the time she wants to rip his hair out. When they're together she genuinely feels like a normal person again, regardless of what they're actually doing; she's more comfortable with Josuke than she's been with anyone after her resurrection, both emotionally and physically. There isn't a thing that she wouldn't do if it would make him happy or keep him safe, although that desire is often stymied by the fact that Josuke feels the same way and is just as stubborn as she is. For all their closeness (or perhaps because of it), Hazel often worries that one day she'll finally cross that line and drive him away - which is why she still keeps so much of herself from him. It's not something she likes to dwell on, preferring instead to focus on every ridiculous moment together.
DROPPED Although Tempo was returned home, she had become one of Hazel's few close friends during her stay. Despite doing her damnedest to cause some kind of stress-related system crash in her robot buddy through her recklessness, in many ways Hazel looked up to her. Her disappearance hit her hard - not that she'd ever admit that. Even now, she strives to be the hero Tempo had somehow become convinced she was.
A fellow 'monster' that she shares surprisingly warm relations with, considering the fact that Kaneki once ripped most of her limbs off. Although her concern for him initially stemmed mostly from the fact that Josuke was friendly with him, Hazel's come to regard Kaneki as a good friend in her own right. They share the quiet inside joke of playing at normal when out in public; if Hazel is being honest with herself, it's comforting to have someone who understands. However, Kaneki is rather obviously unstable, and she often finds herself worrying about his well-being.
OH NO SHE ACCIDENTALLY A FRIEND. Ramir started out as someone with nearly equal sass levels to banter back and forth with, but somehow managed to worm her way into being someone Hazel genuinely cares about. She encourages all of Hazel's worst decisions and tendencies towards recklessness, which sometimes is exactly what she (doesn't) needs. For all that she likes Ramir, however, she's still slow to trust - and the way that Ramir pushes and prods at the inconsistencies in her lies frightens her more than she'll admit.
This kid may possibly be easier to wind up than Hazel herself, which is quite the feat. She loves harassing him as he never fails to react and no one is apparently interested in chaperoning her poor life choices, which include intentionally leaving him at a remote truck stop at four in the morning. Good thing she can't feel pain anymore, because there are a lot of karmic shin-kickings coming.
Aka the Amazing Trash Girl. Tara may have awful taste and a bad handle on keeping secrets, but Hazel actually finds her pretty amusing to hang around so far. She doesn't realize it, but this is likely going to take them both down the road of actual friendship...assuming Hazel stops overturning garbage cans on her sometime soon.
If Hazel weren't eternally committed to Josuke (for better or worse), this is the stunner who would probably be her best friend - or at least pretty close in the running. They ping pong banter easily off each other, moving along with ridiculous propositions so smoothly that it's difficult to tell when exactly they're being serious. Even if she's a bit sore about Rhys' awful roadtrip planning, she'd still go the distance for him.
One of the most volatile imPorts around, and therefore the worst person for Hazel to be winding up...which is probably why she continues to do it. Good thing she can't feel all those punches! Oddly enough, the antagonism and blatant cheating at the arcade don't actually change the fact that the two of them get along pretty well - if anything, it makes hanging out all the more enjoyable. Even if she'll never admit it, Hazel's glad that she can give him at least a couple hours of peace every now and then. That said, she has no intention of ever paying for a single game.
THEY'RE NOT FRIENDS GOD DAMMIT
...except they totally are. Hazel's just unwilling to accept the fact she cares about someone who stomps her ass at video games and winds her so tightly it's a wonder her head hasn't exited the atmosphere by now.
Most people would probably try and get along with their best friend's father. Most people are not Hazel, and most people's fathers are not Joseph Joestar. While they've finally managed to remain in the same room without trying to put the other in a submission hold, it's still a relationship fraught with bickering and stupidly disproportionate retaliation. She'll never pass up an opportunity to shit talk him, regardless of whether the other person actually knows Joseph or not. Sorry, Josuke, she only loves you so much.
Raina is one of the worst decisions that Hazel's made since arriving here, although this knowledge has done nothing to stop her from continuing to engage with her. She's disconcerting just shy of being able to pinpoint the reason and intelligent enough to know that Hazel is lying to her - but she's also a skilled geneticist, which means that there's a real possibility that she could actually find a way to remove the nanites Hazel's been trying to rid herself of since her arrival. It's enough of a chance that she's willing to put herself in very real danger by willingly submitting herself to medical testing - up to a point. Whether or not she'll be able to fight back when the vice finally closes around her remains to be seen, but Hazel's determined to come out of this on top.
One of the few other undead in this universe, and ironically one of the few people that Hazel genuinely cannot stand. Kanaya hits nearly all of her Personal Issue buttons, coming across as self-righteous, arrogant, and (worst of all) completely uninterested in the value of a life except when the argument directly benefits her. All of this combined with Hazel's melodrama has made for quite the petty relationship, where power nulling in crises and wrestling in ball pits are commonplace occurrences. Despite her own issues with the lives she's taken, Kanaya is one of the few people that Hazel is moderately certain she would actually kill if it became necessary. She's not sure how she feels about that.
Hazel is absolutely terrified of this woman. As a necromancer, Sabriel holds in her hands the ability to take away Hazel's free will or even her 'life' whenever the mood strikes her - and after encountering her on several occasions, Hazel has no hope that it won't happen someday. She's found her to be rigid and more than a little self-righteous, completely unwilling to even consider another point of view despite desperate pleas for her to do so. Her assumption that forcing Hazel to live with the constant threat of death should she ever step out of line (as if such a thing were inevitable) rather than immediately dealing with her is a kindness only serves to fuel the anger which lurks beneath that fear. Hazel wants so badly to speak her mind, but knows that she never will - unless things go badly with Josuke, who works alongside Sabriel with RISE. Even Sabriel can't frighten her away from action where her friends are concerned.
Hazel's feelings about Kangmo are simultaneously very simple and more than a little complicated. Initially he'd been nothing but another person to tease harmlessly - but after using his accidental knowledge of her being dead to blackmail her over something incredibly trivial, she has nothing but intense disdain for him. Paradoxically, she's repeatedly gone above and beyond to help him out despite their mutual dislike, often to her own loss in the process. She can't explain it, nor does she really want to. Just thinking about Kangmo gives her a nasty taste in the back of her mouth.
